E-business Incubator Plans Announced
4/19/2009 — Plans to develop Next Growth, a SE Michigan for-profit e-business incubator became a reality today thanks to $250,000 in capital investment secured by founder Greg DeLaere.“For the SE Michigan area, this project is all about rapidly launching e-businesses and making them profitable,” said DeLaere. “The funding will be instrumental for creating the infrastructure, network and programs necessary for e-businesses to succeed in this relatively uncharted new economy. What’s unique about Next Growth”, says DeLaere, “is that it’s a for-profit venture. Business owners pay for the services we provide, and in turn, maintain 100% ownership of their business. Next Growth just makes it faster, less expensive, and infinitely more likely that they will succeed than if they went out on their own.”
In providing entrepreneurs with fundamental tools, services and infrastructure necessary to start and grow their businesses, Next Growth is on the leading edge of a move in SE Michigan away from the slower moving public incubators toward fast and lean for-profit business consortiums who have assembled all of the pieces one needs to succeed in the new economy. “This is a welcome breath of fresh air for the SE Michigan economy.”, says Delaere, “Entrepreneurs no longer have to apply for help, wait in line and roll the dice to get started. They can take matters into their own hands, get exactly what they need for less than they would pay anywhere else, and begin doing business in weeks – not months or years.”
Plans for Next Growth emerged out of a strategic planning process begun by Delaere and several Next Growth consortium members in early 2006. “As we looked around the table, we realized that even in the desperate state of the Michigan economy, we were all having solid success in our businesses. Out of that came a plan and program to help other entrepreneurial e-businesses succeed in the same economy with the same constraints we were all facing.”
The planned e-business incubator will hit the ground running in late April 2007.
Next Growth is a for-profit, e-business incubator designed to accelerate the growth and success of entrepreneurial companies in SE Michigan.
